William E. Bill Crawford II, 50, was found dead at his home in the 1900 block of Stadium Boulevard in Jefferson City, Missouri, on the morning of August 20, 2016. Investigators established he died sometime between about 8:53 p.m. on August 19 and roughly 6:30 a.m. the next morning. A gunshot wound was later determined to be the cause of death, and detectives reclassified the investigation from suspicious to homicide after processing the scene and taking preliminary statements.

Surveillance footage showed Crawford leaving Schulte’s Fresh Foods on the evening of August 19; that is the last confirmed sighting. Jefferson City police and Crime Stoppers circulated flyers and offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to an arrest, warning the public that anyone responsible should be considered armed and dangerous. Crawford was a lifelong local resident and an Army veteran who had served in Germany.

Anyone who saw Crawford that evening or noticed unusual activity near the Stadium Boulevard residence is asked to come forward with information.
