On the morning of November 15, 2014, a quadruple homicide occurred at the Economy Inn on North Glenstone Avenue in Springfield, Missouri. Police found a chaotic scene in a motel guest room where 29-year-old Danielle J. Keyes of Lawrence, Kansas, was among the deceased. Two men, Trevor Fantroy and Lewis Green, were also found dead of gunshot wounds. A fourth victim, Christopher Freeman, was critically injured at the scene and was taken to a hospital, where he died several days later.
Investigators identified Scott A. Goodwin-Bey as the primary suspect and alleged the killings were carried out with a semi-automatic pistol because the victims had provided information about his alleged role in drug distribution. Initial state charges were filed but later dropped in late 2016 after a judge ruled that certain ballistics evidence was scientifically unreliable and inadmissible. A grand jury later indicted Goodwin-Bey in 2018 on four counts of first-degree murder and armed criminal action; he remained in custody on unrelated federal firearms convictions while the state pursued the case.
If anyone knew Danielle, her whereabouts at the Economy Inn that day, or has information about the events in that room, please come forward.
