On March 31, 2010, Randy Stone, 42, a former Marine and a well-known insurance agent in Independence, Missouri, was found dead in his office from a single gunshot wound to the head. There were no apparent signs of a struggle and cash on his desk was left undisturbed, which investigators said ruled out robbery as a motive.
Stone was married to Teresa Stone for 19 years and they had two children. He was active in New Hope Baptist Church. Investigation details released show that police pursued an affair between Teresa and the church’s pastor, David Love, and recovered emails and photographs on Love’s computer suggesting a future together. A torn note in Teresa’s office trash and a text from Teresa to Love saying I want him dead were reported as evidence. The murder weapon was identified as Stone’s Glock, normally kept locked away.
A grand jury later returned indictments tied to the case. What else can anyone who knew Randy, Teresa, or Pastor Love add that might clarify the timeline or motive?
