On the morning of August 9, 1998, the bodies of 54-year-old Lawrence Daigle and his wife Teresa were found along a remote road in Leavenworth County, Kansas. The couple had been beaten and shot multiple times, then wrapped together in a tarp and left by the roadside. Their last known residence was in Houston, Texas, though they had ties to the Kansas City and Wichita areas; investigators could not determine why they were in Leavenworth County.
The violent, organized nature of the crime suggested a personal motive, but no suspects or clear leads emerged. The Leavenworth County Sheriff’s Department and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation continued to investigate, and a governor’s reward was offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction. Has anyone in the Kansas City, Wichita, or Houston areas seen the Daigles or their vehicle around that August 1998 timeframe?
