Terron Hubert, 20, was found shot multiple times near a fishing pier and gazebo along a trail in Quigley Park by Lake Wylie. A woman discovered his body on the morning of June 6, 2022; investigators believe he was killed late the night of June 5. He was fully clothed and carrying no identification. Family and friends remembered him as respectful, humble, and funny, and said he had no known enemies.

The York County Sheriff’s Office investigated and publicly appealed for tips. In August 2022 detectives identified and arrested a suspect, 17-year-old Zi'Quavious Jkwon La'Travis Caldwell of Rock Hill, charging him as an adult with murder, armed robbery with a deadly weapon, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Investigators said the shooting followed an argument between Caldwell and Hubert; initial reports cited stolen money and items, while later court proceedings suggested the dispute may have been over a girl. Caldwell and Hubert reportedly did not know each other prior to the encounter.

Anyone who knew Terron, his movements that night, or who has information about the shooting is asked to come forward.
