Joshua McPherson was 17 and a student at Wilson High School when he was shot and killed on May 29, 2022, at the Coastal Club Apartments on Highway 544 in Conway, South Carolina. He was taken to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his wounds. McPherson was a middle linebacker with hopes for the upcoming football season.

Investigators arrested five people in connection with the shooting. Nineteen-year-old Fanotti Nacier Neal was charged with murder and first-degree burglary; arrest documents allege he unlawfully entered the residence with intent to commit a violent crime and that McPherson was shot with malice aforethought before Neal fled. Also charged were 19-year-old Charrel Nissasani Floyd and 19-year-old Ky'lesha Iyonna Mack, each facing accessory after the fact to murder and first-degree burglary. Two juveniles were also charged: one with murder and first-degree burglary, the other with accessory after the fact of murder and first-degree burglary. Motive and the relationship between McPherson and the suspects remain central to the investigation.

Did anyone in the Conway or Florence area know Joshua, his plans for the season, or have information about his movements that day?
