Damon Lino Jr., 24, was found dead in his North Augusta home on Royal Place in the Murphy Village area on the evening of Thursday, February 17, 2022. Deputies from the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office were called to the residence around 9:40 p.m. and described the circumstances of his death as suspicious. Investigators characterized the scene as complex and announced they would treat the case as a homicide pending further evidence. An autopsy was scheduled to determine the cause of death.

Lino lived in the house with his grandmother. The investigation was active initially but later faded from public attention, leaving many unanswered questions for family and the neighborhood.
