Donasia Holloway-Epps, 22, was shot to death in the driver’s seat of her silver Lexus at her Forest Pointe Apartments complex in Walterboro, South Carolina, on the night of May 22, 2021. She had parked beside a neighbor’s marked police cruiser after a pickup truck she recognized as belonging to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Cole Carroll, followed her; she recorded a brief Snapchat video from inside her locked car as Carroll approached. Responding to the gunfire, the officer who lived in the complex found her slumped over; she had been shot four times, including wounds to the neck and head, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators focused on Carroll amid a history of domestic violence and a prior no-contact order after he was charged with first-degree domestic violence for shoving Donasia and pointing a gun at her. Carroll was arrested within two days and charged with her murder; swabs from his hands that night tested positive for gunshot residue, his phone had been wiped, and he had shaved his head after the killing. The Snapchat video placing him at the scene and testimony from witnesses were central at trial.

Did anyone who knew Donasia or saw her in Walterboro around May 22, 2021, notice anything that could help fill gaps in the timeline?
