On May 21, 2021, police in Williston, South Carolina, found 26-year-old Jerome D. Williams and his 45-year-old mother, Barbara A. Williams, dead at their Halford Street home from multiple gunshot wounds. Both were pronounced dead at the residence.
An older brother, 28-year-old Brandon Antonio Williams, was at the home when the shootings occurred. A witness at the scene said Brandon was the only other person in the house who was not deceased immediately after the gunfire. Investigators recovered three handguns at the scene; Brandon reportedly admitted owning two of them. The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division led the inquiry at the Williston Police Department’s request, and Brandon Williams was arrested and charged with two counts of murder. He was booked into the Barnwell County Detention Center and denied bond, with a first court appearance set for July 19, 2021. Motive was not released in the initial investigation.
Did anyone in the community know Jerome or his family and have details about what happened that night?
