Michael Lewis Keaton was shot and killed after a workplace dispute at Lucky 7s Electric Tattoo Company in Lexington, South Carolina. He was 39 and known locally as Mic Grippa for his music as well as for his tattoo work; friends described him as outgoing and devoted to family and friends. The shooting occurred after midnight on January 31, 2021, following an argument with a coworker that had reportedly been going on the previous day. The business on Platt Springs Road became a crime scene and the community was left reeling.
Police identified a person of interest the same day. Regin Nicreis Oakman, 26, of Lexington, was located at a home on Topaz Court and arrested that afternoon without incident. He was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and taken to the Lexington County Detention Center to await a bond hearing.
Did anyone who knew Michael at the shop or in Lexington see signs the dispute might escalate, or have information about what happened that night?
