A single night of violence left three members of the Davis family dead in Sumter, South Carolina. On Saturday, November 14, 2020, 36-year-old Randy Davis was shot multiple times in a back bedroom of the family home on Marilyn Avenue and died of his wounds. His 61-year-old father, Raymond Davis, was found dead in the living room, and Randy’s 32-year-old brother, Marcus Davis, was shot and killed while sitting in a car outside the residence with his pregnant girlfriend.
The gunman, identified as 27-year-old Eugene Martin, fled but was arrested the next morning. The girlfriend survived serious injuries and underwent an emergency C-section; her son, Myles Marcus Davis, was born in critical condition and later died in January 2021. Martin was charged with multiple counts including murder and attempted murder, burglary, possession of a weapon during a violent crime and malicious injury to property; a fourth murder charge was added after the infant’s death. Martin had a prior involuntary manslaughter conviction from 2016 and was denied bond.
If anyone knew the Davises, their routines, or saw activity on Marilyn Avenue that night, can you share what you remember?
