Donald Christopher Yarborough, known as Chris, was fatally shot in the garage of his Lake City, South Carolina home on October 30, 2020. He was 49, a superintendent for Gregory Electrical Company, and remembered for hunting, fishing, drawing, painting and restoring antique Ford Mustangs. Born September 26, 1971, in Georgetown, he was a Pleasant Hill High School graduate and a devoted father and son.

Mason allegedly shot his father with a rifle, fled on foot and was shortly apprehended by the Florence County Sheriff’s Office. Mason was charged with murder; a Florence County jury later convicted him and the judge imposed life without parole.

Anyone who knew Chris or has information about the events that night is asked to come forward.
