Keith Lamar Watkins Jr., 31, was shot and killed on a Saturday evening in September 2020 at Lakeside Park on Bessie Road in Piedmont, South Carolina. The Greenville County Coroner’s Office identified him and ruled the cause of death a homicide after he was found with a fatal gunshot wound following an altercation in the park.

The shooting turned a community recreation area into the site of a deadly confrontation and left Watkins’ family grieving.
