Dontarius Pringle, 25, was shot and killed in a North Charleston parking lot in the early hours of September 11, 2020. Officers responded about 1:20 a.m. to 7477 Northside Drive after reports of a shooting and found Pringle suffering from a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Charleston County Coroner ruled the cause of death a gunshot wound.

Friends and family remember him as always happy and smiling, a funny person who enjoyed gaming and deeply loved his children. North Charleston Police opened a homicide investigation and contacted a person of interest in the initial stages, but no charges were filed at that time and authorities have not released further details.
