Richard Juarez, 36, was found unconscious after a severe beating in the 4800 block of East Washington Avenue in Central Fresno and died of his injuries on January 22, 2017. The attack occurred in his neighborhood; he succumbed shortly after being discovered.

His family held a vigil seeking justice, and neighbors rallied in support as police investigated. Authorities were looking for leads and for information about why he might have been targeted, but as of the vigil the case remained unsolved.
