On the evening of July 3, 2020, a violent armed robbery in the Oakside Mobile Home Park in Goose Creek, South Carolina, left three people dead. Acacio Carro, 45, was one of the victims; investigators say the group targeted Hispanic residents, approaching people outside their homes and demanding money and valuables at gunpoint. Jose Torrez-Padilla, 39, and Salvador Dominguez, 32, were also killed in the shootings on Oakside Drive.

Berkeley County deputies moved quickly and arrested two suspects within days. On July 6, 2020, authorities arrested 24-year-old Jabaari Kayon Ferguson and a 16-year-old, Robert Anthony Maize II, linking them to the Oakside killings and other armed robberies that same night in nearby mobile home parks and on Pine Shadow Drive. Court proceedings have focused on who fired the fatal shots, with competing accounts from the defendants and testimony about each person’s role.

Many questions remain about motive and the sequence of events that led to the deaths. Anyone with information about the Oakside Mobile Home Park incidents or the victims is asked to come forward.
