A large block party on Dover Road in Jonesville, South Carolina, on the night of May 23, 2020, ended in gunfire and multiple casualties. Seventeen-year-old Jabbrie Brandon of Union was critically injured and died at a local hospital. The shooting also killed 21-year-old Curtis Lamont Bomar of Spartanburg, and five other people were wounded amid the chaos at an event that drew an estimated 1,000 attendees and had already generated noise complaints earlier that evening.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office responded that night and opened an intensive investigation. Two men were arrested: 35-year-old Darnell Deandre Beacham of Buffalo and 26-year-old Shaquille Obryant Barber of Jonesville. Beacham was initially charged with public disorderly conduct; Barber faced public disorderly conduct and unlawful carrying of a handgun.
If anyone attended that event or has information about the shooting, please share what is known with investigators.
