A second person was wounded in the same shooting and survived after being taken to Prisma Health Richland with non-life-threatening injuries.

Fairfield County deputies identified two men, Neil Smith Jr., then 26, and Rondell T. Trapp, then 35, as primary suspects and obtained warrants charging them with murder and attempted murder. Authorities warned both were considered armed and dangerous and asked the public to provide information about their whereabouts. An unrelated shooting occurred on the same street less than an hour later and led to a separate arrest while the Williams investigation continued.
