On April 14, 2020, 21-year-old Deandre Shymear Willford was fatally shot at an apartment complex in Anderson, South Carolina. Emergency responders pronounced Willford dead at the scene.

Within a short period after the shooting, investigators arrested a 17-year-old male; his name was not released because of his age. The teen was charged with Willford’s murder and was denied bond.
