On the late evening of Wednesday, February 19, 2020, Timothy Sherwin Davis, 29, was found with multiple gunshot wounds at the Coastal Villa Apartments off S.C. 544 in Conway, South Carolina. Emergency crews arrived around 11 p.m.; Davis was taken to a local hospital with grave injuries and later died of those wounds.

Horry County Police opened an investigation and officers searched for a white GMC Envoy that was seen near the complex around the time of the shooting. The motive and the events that led to the fatal encounter have not been publicly detailed, and no arrests were announced in the days and weeks after the shooting. The case remains unsolved.
