On the morning of December 15, 2019, 35-year-old Kewayne Lee of Hardeeville, South Carolina, was found inside a car at The Brown Derby on Speedway Boulevard with several gunshot wounds. Deputies from the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office and EMS responded; Lee was taken to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia, where he later died.
The investigation identified 26-year-old Treivon Clifton Jenkins of Hardeeville as a suspect. In June 2020, Jenkins was arrested and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and was booked into the Jasper County Detention Center. Authorities said further arrests were possible.
Jenkins has a documented criminal history that includes multiple arrests for violent offenses; prior charges listed in reporting included attempted murder, armed robbery, kidnapping, and various weapon and drug charges, with many of those earlier charges ultimately dismissed. Does anyone have information about Lee’s case or witnessed the incident at The Brown Derby that night?
