On the evening of November 10, 2019, 21-year-old Tariq Matthews and 20-year-old Nathaniel Delesline were both shot and killed on Prospect Drive in North Charleston, South Carolina. The Charleston County Coroner’s Office confirmed both men died at the scene from gunshot wounds. A woman was also reported shot in the incident; her condition was not publicly detailed.
Early statements from the North Charleston Police Department indicated the shooting may have involved an exchange of gunfire between the victims, but the circumstances remained under active investigation. Friends and family remembered Tariq as kind-hearted with a good sense of humor who worked at Target and had attended Hanahan High School and Trident Technical College. Nathaniel was remembered as a beloved son and father to his young son, Noah.
Despite initial police activity, the investigation later grew cold. If anyone has information about what happened that night, please come forward and share what you know.
