On June 23, 2019, three people were fatally shot in an apartment complex on Cambridge Street in Abbeville, South Carolina. Victims were 24-year-old Johntavier T. Moss (known as Dooley), his 26-year-old cousin Steven Tinch, and their 62-year-old grandmother Shirley Jean Jones. A fourth person was wounded. Authorities say the attack began as a premeditated armed robbery arranged by 19-year-old Elijah Ty Rez Head, who had set up a meeting at the apartment under the pretext of buying or trading firearms.

Head fled with two female companions, returned minutes later, and shot Moss five times while Moss was on the phone with dispatchers. A 24-year-old man who entered to help was shot multiple times but survived and later identified the shooter. Head was located the following evening at a motel in Greenwood and charged with three counts of murder, one count of attempted murder, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Two teenagers, Ta Zaria Idejah Curry and Daijeanne Lee Hamilton, were charged with accessory after the fact for assisting Head after the killings.

If anyone knew Johntavier Moss, his activities that summer, or saw anything at the Cambridge Street complex on June 23, that information could be important.
