Damon Tremaine Alston, 35, was shot to death in North Charleston on Sunday, April 28, 2019. A forklift driver and father, Alston was found on Nibbs Lane; the Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified him and listed a gunshot wound as the cause of death.
He is survived by his parents, Marie L. Watson and Bobby Steed; two sons, Jaedon Alston and Damon Alston, Jr.; and siblings Angela Dingle, Walter Watson, and Vincent Hamilton. Family and friends held a funeral at Mt. Nebo AME Church in Awendaw, with interment at St. James AME Church Cemetery.
The North Charleston Police Department has kept the case open. No arrests or suspects have been publicly announced through late 2025. Does anyone in the area have information that could help bring answers to his family?
