Stephanie Jena Brown was 27 when she was last confirmed in Farmington, New Mexico, on December 12, 2015, when she was arrested and later released. She was given a court date she did not attend, and there have been no confirmed sightings or communications from her since that post-release period. Family contact had already been absent since 2009, so the disappearance came after a long stretch of disconnect.
A member of the Arapaho Tribe of the Wind River Reservation, she was described at the time as a Native American female, brown hair, brown eyes, 4 feet 11 inches, about 137 pounds, and known to have struggled with substance abuse. The Farmington Police Department did not receive an official missing person report until August 27, 2019, nearly four years after her last known contact, which has complicated the investigation and left many questions unanswered.
The last definite trace remains the December 2015 interaction with the legal system; what happened to her after release is unknown. If anyone saw Stephanie in Farmington after December 2015 or knows her whereabouts, please contact the Farmington Police Department with any information.
