On August 17, 2018, Robbie Stetson Ford, 25, and his father, Robert Marion Ford Jr., 59, were ambushed and shot to death in the yard of their Conway, South Carolina, home. The initial investigation produced few answers; the victims’ Ford Escape was later found partially burned in a field miles away. Investigators processed the vehicle and recovered three cigarette butts and a partially burned skull cap, from which DNA profiles were developed.

Those genetic leads eventually drew investigators to a suspect identified as Randy Dean Grainger of Loris, South Carolina. Authorities say the killings were part of a murder-for-hire plot allegedly organized by Samantha Ford Rabon, Robert’s daughter and Robbie’s half-sister, who prosecutors contend stood to gain financially from the deaths. Teresa Ann Martin is reported to have acted as an intermediary who drove Grainger to and from the scene.

The case involves multiple charges tied to ambush-style murders, arson and conspiracy. Anyone with information about the planning, the burned vehicle, or activity in the area around August 17, 2018, is asked to come forward.
