On May 31, 2018, 11-year-old Breyanna Priscilla Jackson was killed in a shooting at her family home on McCutcheon Road in Timmonsville, South Carolina. Breyanna loved singing, dancing and playfully photographing her grandmother sleeping; she attended Brockington Elementary School. That evening an acquaintance of the family visited the house twice. During the second visit an altercation between the visitor and Breyanna’s father escalated and gunfire broke out. Breyanna, her 39-year-old mother Cheirese Lutricia Smith Jackson, and her 14-year-old sister Nykerria Shanyia Jackson were all fatally wounded. Breyanna’s father and a younger sister were injured and survived.

Authorities arrested a suspect the following day. He was identified as Cephas Cowick and charged with three counts of murder and two counts of attempted murder; court proceedings moved forward with a preliminary hearing that outlined the dispute that preceded the shooting. Does anyone from Timmonsville remember details from that night or have information that could help clarify what happened?
