In the early morning hours of May 27, 2018, a dispute between the parents of two children ended in a fatal shooting outside Club Icon in Spartanburg. Travis Jeter, 31, of Roebuck, South Carolina, was shot in the chest around 3 a.m. after an argument with the children’s mother in the nightclub’s parking lot.
Authorities identified 28-year-old Brittany Browning as the person who turned herself in to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office shortly after the shooting. Browning told investigators that she and Jeter had been involved in a verbal altercation that culminated in the shooting; she was arrested and charged with murder and held without bail as the investigation continued.
What information about that night or the relationship between the two might help explain how the argument escalated to deadly violence?
