On Sunday, May 6, 2018, the bodies of 79-year-old Judith Hilley Calvert and her 50-year-old daughter, Theresa Lucille Wright, were found in their home on Overbrook Street in Anderson, South Carolina by a concerned relative who could not reach them. Both women, who were Caucasian, had been subjected to extreme violence. The coroner’s report described gunshot wounds, stab wounds, strangulation, and severe beatings.

Investigators focused on a family member as the primary person of interest. Bradley Carter Aldrich, Calvert’s grandson and Wright’s son, was identified by the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office and was arrested. He faced multiple charges related to the deaths, including two counts of murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime; additional charges included distribution of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, and resisting arrest.

The community in Anderson was left reeling by the brutality and the family connection. Did anyone in the neighborhood know of tensions in the household or have information about Aldrich’s whereabouts before May 6, 2018?
