James Lower, 66, was killed during a home invasion at his Graniteville, South Carolina residence on March 1, 2018. A lifelong local and a painter by trade, Lower was at home when two men wearing camouflage forced entry, reportedly ransacked the house and then confronted him. He sustained fatal injuries during that encounter and the death has been investigated as a homicide by Aiken County authorities.
Officials have not announced any arrests, and no suspects have been publicly charged. The two men in camouflage remain unidentified, and the case is listed among unsolved homicides in the state. Few additional public details about the motive or timeline have been released.
If anyone in Graniteville that night saw activity at Lower’s home or knows who the men in camouflage might be, please come forward with information.
