Matthew Littlejohn, 33, was killed in the early hours of a Tuesday in January 2018 after an exchange of gunfire that began at a Circle K on Pleasant School Road in Gaffney, South Carolina. Littlejohn, a Boiling Springs resident, was in a vehicle with a family friend when another vehicle pulled up alongside; both cars left the convenience store and, as they departed, gunfire erupted. Littlejohn’s vehicle continued north on Shelby Highway and stopped at the Sumol Textile of America plant just off Interstate 85, where he died of his injuries.

Surveillance footage from the gas station and nearby businesses showed a person of interest and a light-colored Chevy Blazer or GMC Jimmy. Investigators later identified Salvador Marquez, 35, of Charlotte, North Carolina, as responsible. Marquez pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter and possession of a weapon during a violent crime and was sentenced to 25 years in prison with a requirement to serve at least 85 percent before being eligible for early release. Did anyone see either vehicle that morning or notice a light-colored Blazer/Jimmy in the area?
