Dravious ’Dre’ Terry was a 22-year-old senior business major at Claflin University when he was shot dead inside his off-campus apartment at the Campus Corner Apartments on Chestnut Street in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The shooting occurred the morning of November 10, 2017; deputies responding to a 911 call around 10:15 a.m. found Terry on the floor in a pool of blood with a fatal gunshot wound.
The 911 call came from Terry’s roommate and fellow student, 21-year-old Andrew Sanders Jr. of Savannah. Sanders was in the living room when deputies arrived and told them Terry had been shot in his room. A weapon was recovered near the bathroom entrance and Sanders was taken into custody. He was charged with involuntary manslaughter; prosecutors said the charge could be changed as the investigation continued because a murder charge would require evidence of malice and intent. At a bond hearing, Sanders’s attorney described the shooting as a tragic accident between two best friends and said Sanders immediately called 911 and cooperated. Bond was set at $75,000 and Sanders was ordered not to contact Terry’s family and given a no-trespass order for the university campus.
Are there witnesses or anyone with information about what happened inside that apartment on November 10, 2017?
