Quran Allen, 26, was found dead from gunshot wounds on a couch at a Timber Lane residence in Summerville, South Carolina, on October 7, 2017. Deputies from the Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office were called for gunshots and discovered Allen alone in the home. Investigators quickly classified the death as a homicide.

Within months the sheriff’s office identified multiple people believed responsible. In January 2018 three men were arrested: brothers Gerard Hamilton, 27, and Maliek Hamilton, 25, both of North Charleston, were each charged with one count of murder. A third man, 25-year-old Ricky Carl Martin of Goose Creek, was arrested after a standoff and also charged with murder.
