On the evening of May 30, 2017, in Lexington, South Carolina, 35-year-old Derrick James Jones was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds at a residence on the 100 block of South Hampton Road in the Red Bank area. Deputies arrived after a call at about 5:15 p.m.; Jones was transported to a local hospital but died of his injuries despite emergency treatment.

Investigators quickly identified a suspect. The day after the shooting they named 22-year-old Jeremy Antonio Williams of Swansea and sought him on an arrest warrant charging him with Jones’s murder, warning he should be considered armed and dangerous. In June 2017 Williams turned himself in and was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center on charges including murder, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Does anyone have information about Jones, his activities in Red Bank, or contacts who might add detail to the timeline that evening?
