On the morning of February 15, 2017, 27-year-old Lewis Hay Frampton IV was found dead of gunshot wounds after police responded to a shooting on Magwood Drive in the Evergreen subdivision of Summerville, South Carolina. The Dorchester County Coroner’s Office later confirmed his identity and cause of death. A second person was wounded in the same incident and taken to a hospital in stable condition.
Family and friends remembered Frampton as engaging, quick-witted and gentle beneath a tough exterior; he was a father, a son and a brother. The Summerville Police Department’s investigation led to the arrest of 21-year-old Diquann Adonis Cotton, who was charged with murder in connection with Frampton’s death. The case moved into the judicial system and drew close attention from the local community.
Did anyone in the Summerville area see or hear anything on Magwood Drive that night that could help clarify what happened?
