Christie Lynn Stutler was 31 when she died in Antreville, South Carolina, on November 8, 2016. What was first reported to police as a suicide shifted after investigators found the scene and injuries inconsistent with a self-inflicted wound. Christie had been beaten and then shot with a .22 caliber rifle, according to the authorities’ findings.
Her 48-year-old boyfriend, Charles Tillman, called 911 that evening saying he had returned from work to find Christie had shot herself. As the investigation unfolded, Tillman became the primary suspect and was arrested. In January 2018 he was tried in Abbeville County on charges of murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime; a jury convicted him on both counts and the judge imposed a life sentence.
If anyone knew Christie, her movements that night, or has information about the events leading up to November 8, 2016, please share what is known.
