Johnny Joe Coxie was 29 when he and his wife, Meagan Leigh McCraw Coxie, disappeared from Woodruff, South Carolina in December 2015 after Meagan’s mother bonded her out of jail with the promise of a job. Their disappearance went unresolved until November 2016, when law enforcement investigating another missing couple found a woman chained inside a storage container on a property owned by real estate agent Todd Kohlhepp.
The woman’s account led investigators to multiple graves on the Woodruff property. The remains of Johnny and Meagan were recovered; an autopsy determined Johnny died of a gunshot wound to the torso. Kohlhepp was arrested, confessed to the killings of the Coxies and five other people, and said an argument over money led him to shoot Johnny, then hold Meagan captive before killing her.
Kohlhepp later pleaded guilty to multiple murders, kidnapping and criminal sexual assault and received consecutive life sentences without parole. Does anyone have information about the Coxies, the work they were hired to do, or their movements in December 2015?
