Jeffrey DeWitt Osborne, 47, was shot to death at his Townville, South Carolina, home on September 28, 2016. A local poultry farmer and a 1987 graduate of Westside High School, he was sitting and reading in a chair when his 14-year-old son, Jesse Osborne, shot him three times in the back of the head.

After killing his father, the boy drove his father’s pickup about three miles to Townville Elementary School, crashed into a playground fence during recess, and opened fire on children and a teacher. Six-year-old Jacob Hall died of his injuries three days later; another student and a teacher were wounded. A volunteer firefighter tackled the shooter and stopped the attack. Investigators said the shooter’s gun repeatedly jammed because he had loaded the wrong type of ammunition.

The teenager was arrested and charged with two counts of murder and three counts of attempted murder and was to be tried as an adult. If anyone knew Jeffrey Osborne or has information about the events of September 28, 2016, please share what you know.
