Nineteen-year-old Damarco Jones was fatally shot on the evening of August 13, 2016, while sitting outside at his grandparents’ home on Madden Road in North Charleston, South Carolina. He was struck in the head by a bullet and was found unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived. His death was counted as the city’s 20th homicide of 2016.

The North Charleston Police Department opened an investigation after the shooting, but the case has not produced public information identifying a suspect or a motive. The family continues to live with unanswered questions after the sudden loss of a young man.
