Aaron Chestnut, 33, was shot and killed in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on May 26, 2016. An altercation ended with Chestnut sustaining fatal gunshot wounds, and reports say the assailant then drove over his body.

An arrest was made in connection with the killing. The person charged later admitted to the acts and pleaded guilty. The legal resolution removed uncertainty about who committed the crime, but the brutality of the incident and Chestnut’s loss continue to affect those who knew him.
