Anquan Lemuel Gambrell was 23 when he was shot during a dispute at an apartment complex on Old Spartanburg Road in Taylors, South Carolina. The shooting occurred early evening on Saturday, February 6, 2016; Gambrell was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital and died of his injuries the next day, Sunday, February 7, 2016. His death was ruled a homicide.
Investigators say the shooting followed a verbal disagreement between Gambrell and 20-year-old Na’eem Johnson Okine. Deputies from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office located and arrested Okine without incident shortly after the incident. Okine was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and booked into the Greenville County Detention Center.
Does anyone have information about the dispute or the events at the Old Spartanburg Road apartments that night?
