Franklin Othell Williams Jr., known as BJ, was 28 when he was found dead of a gunshot wound on November 22, 2015, in a warehouse on Southrail Road in North Charleston, South Carolina. His death was investigated as a homicide and left his family and community reeling.
Initial investigation led to the arrest of his brother, Charles Gordon Perry, on a murder charge, suggesting a complicated family connection. The case later produced convictions: prosecutors say a shootout occurred between a group in a van and a group in a car and that Justin Martel Wilson, then 23, fired the fatal shot. Wilson and Marvin Donte Bryan, then 30, were convicted of murder and attempted murder and received 50-year sentences. Other men — Keith Lamont Evans Jr., 23, and Daqian Henry Gilliard, 22 — were charged and testified against Wilson and Bryan, and a fifth person faced an accessory charge.
Does anyone have information about Williams’ life in North Charleston or about the night of November 22, 2015?
