Donald Timothy Lloyd Jr., known to family as Timmy, was a 27-year-old father and son from Ladson, South Carolina. On the night of Tuesday, July 21, 2015, deputies and first responders responded to reports of gunfire near the Ladson Flea Market at College Park Road and Frank Jones Road. They found Lloyd lying in the roadway on Frank Jones Road with at least one gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene and the Berkeley County coroner ordered an autopsy. The Sheriff’s Office classified the death as a homicide.
Investigators worked through the night but reported few clear leads and limited forensic evidence at the scene. Detectives have repeatedly appealed for information, saying the case likely depends on someone in the community coming forward. An acquaintance was later arrested on an obstruction charge for moving a key piece of evidence, but authorities stated that person was not believed to be the shooter and no one has been charged with Lloyd’s murder. Lloyd’s family continues to care for his five children and presses for answers.
Did anyone in the Ladson area see or hear anything near Frank Jones Road around 8:30 p.m. on July 21, 2015?
