Kenneth Lamont Robinson, 34, was shot and killed at an Exxon gas station on Dorchester Road in North Charleston, South Carolina, on January 9, 2015. The slaying, later called the Exxon station slaying, prompted an immediate police search for a male suspect.
Three days after the shooting, a suspect was arrested on a Monday afternoon and identified as Jerome Coaxum Jr. He was charged with murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime. Motive and the exact circumstances of the encounter at the gas station remained central issues for investigators and the courts.
If anyone witnessed the shooting or has information that could help clarify what happened that night, please come forward.
