Dewuane Chris Douglas was 24 when he was shot to death in Loris, South Carolina, in the early morning of November 29, 2014. Police say the shooting occurred at a residence on Spring Street around 1:30 a.m.; an autopsy confirmed he died of multiple gunshot wounds. Reports note he was Black and that a recent traffic record listed a different Loris address, so it was unclear whether he lived at the Spring Street home.
The Horry County Police Department opened a homicide investigation but has not publicly identified suspects or made arrests. The case remains unsolved and the investigation is ongoing as family and community members seek answers. If anyone has information about that night or Dewuane’s movements before the shooting, please contact investigators.
