Anthony Jarvis King Jr., known as A.J., was 25 when he was killed after a late-night brawl outside a Ridgeland dance club on November 11, 2014. The fight spilled into the parking lot of a nearby 7-Eleven, and Anthony was struck by two gunshots, one to the head and one to the arm. He grew up in Jasper County, attended local public schools, and was remembered as cheerful, respectful, athletic, a basketball fan and a talented drummer whose willingness to help others made him well liked in the community.

The case led to arrests: Ira Anderson was identified as the person who fired the fatal shots, and Sheena Latoya Bailey was accused of driving the getaway vehicle. Both were charged with first-degree murder and a firearm offense; later proceedings in Anderson’s case produced a conviction for second-degree murder and the firearm count, while Bailey’s case was severed for separate trial.

If anyone knew Anthony or saw events that night in Ridgeland, please share what was seen or heard.
