Semaj Randolph, 20, was killed in Orangeburg, South Carolina, on August 4, 2014. A dispute over stolen drugs in the late morning escalated into gunfire in the front yard of a Stilton Road residence. Randolph was struck by a bullet that witnesses say was fired by 20-year-old Marquis Diondre Stevenson during an argument with two other men; the shot reportedly hit Randolph unintentionally.
Officers found a car with shattered windows and Randolph lying in the yard. Stevenson was identified as the suspected shooter, arrested, and charged with murder and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime. Reports about the initial incident noted the charges and a scheduled bond hearing; the news coverage available at the time did not report the final disposition of the case.
Does anyone have information about Randolph, the incident on Stilton Road, or what happened in the legal case after those initial reports?
