Alton Antonio Daniels, 34, was found fatally shot in his car in a Myrtle Beach hotel parking lot on June 16, 2014. Investigators say the killing followed a scheme in which two 18-year-old high school seniors, Meleke Stewart and Broderick Roscoe, used texts and calls to lure Daniels to the meeting under the pretense of a paid sexual encounter, then planned to rob him.
Authorities arrested both teenagers; both reportedly confessed to planning the robbery. Prosecutors presented the messages at trial showing the negotiations. Witnesses said Roscoe drove Stewart to the scene and left before the shooting, and charges against Roscoe were later dismissed by the 15th Circuit Solicitor’s Office. Stewart was tried, convicted by an Horry County jury of murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
Does anyone have information about Daniels’ activities in Myrtle Beach in June 2014 or recall seeing him at that hotel parking lot?
