On the evening of June 4, 2014, in Florence, South Carolina, 33-year-old Edward Windham was riding a moped through the Tara Village subdivision when shots rang out at the intersection of Candy and Leigh lanes. Residents who came outside found Windham slumped over his moped; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police identified and took into custody two brothers from Manning shortly after the shooting. Cory Nettles Allen, 28, was seen by witnesses holding a pistol and standing over Windham’s body immediately after the shots. Cory Allen was charged with murder; his brother, 29-year-old Frederick Allen, was charged with accessory before the fact to murder. Both men were denied bond at a June 9, 2014 court appearance and held at the Florence County Detention Center pending their first appearance in General Sessions Court.
No motive for the shooting was released. Does anyone have information about Windham, the brothers, or that neighborhood on the night of June 4, 2014?
