On the night of Saturday, May 24, 2014, 28-year-old Jamie Williams was one of three people killed in a shooting at the Bermuda Sands Motel on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach. The shooting followed a large street fight earlier that evening; Williams, Devonte Dantzler, 21, and Sandy Gaddis Barnwell, 22, moved to the motel’s second floor where multiple gunshots struck them. Williams and Dantzler were pronounced dead at the scene; Barnwell was taken to Grand Strand Regional Medical Center and later died. A fourth person, Keith A. Williams, 24, was wounded and survived. The cause of death for the three was listed as trauma to vital organs from gunshot wounds.
Authorities arrested two men at the scene on charges unrelated to the homicides, but no arrests have been announced in connection with the killings and no public suspects have been identified. Investigators say the case remains open and they continue to seek information from witnesses. Did anyone in Myrtle Beach that Memorial Day weekend see anything or know people who were there that night?
